mixed messages

on the gathering held on friday by MDP its parlimentary group leader and the crowd gathered said to a safer maldives we need to get maumoon arrested. before 24 hours to we hear that the cabinet decides to renew the lease of alif dhaal ariyadhooo given to maumoons brother in law Ilyas ibrahim. he had been accused of fraud before when he was in the power both by the former regime and the present government. So what is the intension of the government. Is it that the current government
uses maumoon to gether support to them as a political tool?. are they afraid to prove the corruption of the former regime cause they themselves have corruption going in the government. hmm

Protest or Public Disorder?

the protest that has been going in the street of Male for 5 consecutive nights is viewed in differently. supporters of the government view it as a plot organized by the opposition to overthrow the government by means of protest. taking a model of recent protest that led to government change in most of the middle east nations. The ruling party vows to defend the government by all means. the opposition and its supporters say it is protest by the youth to highlight the impact the country is facing due to the dollar reference change made by the government to stabilize the economy. the crime prevention committee and police view it as public disorder and accused that the protest are a proxy used by the underground gangs to get back at the police for the recent crackdown on them. however it is viewed the protests and the chain of events that occur due to the protest would have its affect's on the country

calls to arrest former government officials poltical drama?

almost in all of the gatherings of the ruling MDP some of it parliament members and most of the time its parliamentary leader calls on the government to arrest former government officials over corruption and charges on to overthrow the government. till today the calls are not acted on. this raises the question every time MDP top officials call on the government to arrest former government officials are they playing a game to render support to them. a presidential commission have been in place and a lot of cases are said to be investigated by them till to date no case have been finished or sent to the courts. there is no news of any action taken from the commission. wonder of they are doing their job or is this also another game by the government. are they afraid if they do start taking action then their former vice president may also have to be investigated . hmm

Protest to bring down the price?

two nights the capital male' have seen protests against the rising of prices due to the recent dollar change. the first night saw violent clashes between the police and protesters. the second night the ruling party had their supporters on the streets with some joining the protest the other half against the protest. the question is will the prices go down due to the protest. is the government ready to hear their call. since its an opposition protest the government probably will not listen. the other question is did the price go up entirely because of the dollar crisis or some people using the dollar crisis to their advantage?. why is local foods prices on the rise?. why did the price of stock rise that were already in the shops that was purchased before the dollar change?.why why why .

People who favour DhiTV is the opposition. those who are against say that every news on it starts wordings thats against the government. there are people who favour VTV, but some say since its part of Villa group whose chairman is an opposition party leader all its news are ccontrolled by his policies. the newly formed Raaje TV according to some say is supported by the government. i guess the answer to which TV station talks the truth is it depends on which side of the political circle you are.

MDP elections

tomorrow MDP is going to hold its internal elections. we have seen heated comments between canditates running for its presodent and vice president. one camp accusing the other on all sort of things. its secretery general lost his job for campaigning for a candidate. a debate between candidates was dropped after accusation of corruption. there were internet anti campaigns against candidates. some now say that after the election result there may be a crack in the party like what is now happening in DRP. some disagree with this saying MDP is much stronger and a drift as DRP because MDP is not a party based on one person but rather on an ideology. lets wait and see what happens
