2.7 million dollar worth of drugs?

one local newspaper haveeru reported 2.7 million dollars worth of drugs have been captured by the police services http://www.haveeru.com.mv/beta/?page=details&id=54624 what has this country become. why are there more and more drug cases and more and more addicts. why is it that we cannot stop this in a small country like maldives?......................
